Check out 29 Latest Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-loving superheroes are making their way to the popular trading card game. The well-known TCG's company, the game's creators, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive event held at NYCC. Could this be a exciting new set or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.

Take a look below at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful context. Everything listed here launches on March 6, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before diving into the many unique products and collections available, let’s take a look at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a couple of shell-shocking details. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu ability, in which gamers can play powerful creatures onto the game field when an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. Wizards also used this chance to refine the ability a bit (Sneak counts as playing a spell, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets from now on.

“If we ever were to return to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use the original ability since that plane is it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior game designer explained. “However in other settings, because the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable we’ll use Sneak.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the set by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play game cards that aren't in your deck, many players were. Yet according to the developers, it’s now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they were careful to ensure the cards and mechanics meshed well with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and what other sets would be near it in Standard,” the designer commented. “We designed to make sure that they work well with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy focused on artifacts.

“They combine to provide the pieces for a fun Standard-legal deck,” he added.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power

After declining to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your commander based on how you pair them (five cards include a unique partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area rather than only one). Take a look for yourself:

This Commander precon is set at $69.99, though that could easily go up based on popularity. Sources indicated that it includes 43 new cards in total, which means an extra 37 Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, that also means approximately 20 reprints if we assume the precon includes 37 lands.)

How will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, the company is offering a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil land cards
  • 15 Regular basic lands
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Foil promo card
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza lands
  • Five Foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • Two helper cards
  • One Large life tracker
  • One storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards revealed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

This special bundle releases a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is designed for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to draft)
  • 1 Premium Booster (also known as, the prize for winning)
  • 90 Regular land cards (to build your deck)
  • Ten Regular token cards
  • 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic game products aimed at new players. Here, the cooperative set is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The general idea here that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
